SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The True Hero Fund will be the first charitable organization to use Instagram’s new Live Donation feature at an IG Live telethon today, April 29th, 2020 at 7:00pm EDT. The Instagram Live event will last four hours from 7:00pm to 11:00pm EDT and will be hosted by Instagram celebrity Tank Sinatra. Tank Sinatra has more than 7.1 million followers on Instagram through his four Instagram accounts @Tank.Sinatra , @TanksGoodNews, @InfluencersInTheWild and @MemeDaddy. The celebrities participating in the event have more than 75.0 million Instagram followers in total. The funds raised will go directly to the True Hero Fund, a non-profit fund launched last week to support the medical heroes fighting the war against COVID-19.

The True Hero Fund provides crucial assistance directly to doctors, nurses, paramedics and other frontline medical professionals so they get the PPE and other essential resources they need. The fund also provides grants directly to medical professionals who have made enormous sacrifices providing extraordinary levels of care to their patients, and who have gone above and beyond the call of duty during the COVID-19 pandemic.
