Ruyi Group Takes Actions to Help COVID-19 Control and Ensure Enterprise Development

JINING, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ruyi Group urgently delivered pandemic prevention materials and medicines to fight against the COVID-19 outbreak. After establishing a pandemic-control group, Ruyi has held several meetings on pandemic control to protect employees’ health.

Ruyi Group donated 3 million yuan of medical protection materials to the Emergency Support Group of Jining Pandemic Treatment Headquarters on January 31 and February 1. Later, Ruyi sent a professional team to support producing protective clothing and surgical clothing. Ruyi Group has formulated the production plan of 5000 sets of isolation garments by making the emergency purchase of raw materials, designing, testing samples, configuring the production line, etc. The first 500 sets of isolation garments have been donated to the Jining Red Cross.

The branches of Ruyi Group, simultaneously, have joined the pandemic prevention and control process. Yinchuan Binhe Ruyi Clothing Co., Ltd. and Ruyi Group Tai'an Co., Ltd. have produced the first batch of 500 and 300 pieces of isolation gowns, as soon as they obtained the production qualification of disposable isolation garments (non-sterile). These isolation garments have been donated respectively to local government departments on February 12 and February 14.

Ruyi Woolen Garment Workshop, part of Ruyi Group (002193.SH), has resumed production since February 10, reaching 80% of production capacity on the first day and then returning to the full production capacity in 3 days. “There are 508 employees at work at this moment, producing foreign trade orders of February,” Director of Ruyi Woolen Garment Group, Su Qian said. All workers wear masks and work clothes in the workshop, and all machineries and equipment have been put into production.

In the context of the COVID-19 outbreak, online shopping has become a more preferred way. The e-commerce channels of Ruyi’s sub-brands in mainland China have played a prominent role at this time. In 2018, Ruyi Group and JD.com, a Chinese e-commerce giant, started a comprehensive strategic cooperation. Three fashion brands of Hong Kong’s Trinity Group (0891.HK) were launched on JD.com in the same year.

SMCP Group (SMCP.PA) has fully integrated its brands into Tmall platform as early as 2016. SMCP further launched an independent e-commerce platform in China in 2017 and cooperated with JD.com in 2019. The e-commerce channels have become the driving force of Ruyi Group’s contrarian development.
