SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Unity Technologies (https://unity3d.com/), creator of the world’s most widely used real-time 3D development platform, today announced the appointment of Kim Jabal as the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Jabal brings decades of experience in senior positions scaling businesses and navigating growth. She joins Unity from Weebly where she served as CFO, responsible for selling the company to Square in May 2018. Previous to Weebly, Jabal was the CFO at Path, Inc., and held senior leadership positions at Lytro, Inc. and Google -- where she helped lead the company from less than $1 billion to $36 billion in revenue.
At Unity, Jabal will be responsible for operating the finances of a 27 global office organization with 2,500 employees who bring Unity’s real-time 3D development to 3 billion devices worldwide. She will report directly to Chief Executive Officer, John Riccitiello.
“Kim’s strategic and operational track record of leading growth is impressive,” said John Riccitiello, Chief Executive Officer, Unity Technologies. “Couple her finance experience with her deep roots in engineering and R&D, and it’s no secret why she’s a great fit to support Unity’s continued growth. We look forward to working with her to define the next chapters of Unity.”
Jabal joins Unity at a time of massive growth and technical advancement for the company. While Unity has been largely known as the leader in game development, the company is expanding beyond games and into new industries including automotive, film, architecture, engineering, construction and more.
“What attracted me to Unity most was the fact that the company is the clear market and technology leader in the real-time 3D development space. It reminds me a lot of when I started at Google, back when the company was a smaller, yet similarly positioned, and very technology-driven, company,” said Kim Jabal. “Unity has the power to make a massive global impact across many industries, and I couldn’t be more excited to join John and team at such a special and exciting time for the company.”
Jabal is a current Board of Directors member for FedEx and SVB Financial Group.
