SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mango Health, the leading digital medication management platform, today announced the promotion of Yadin Shemmer as Chief Executive Officer. Shemmer has served for the past year as President of Mango Health, and this transition has been planned with care as the company embarks upon its next stage of growth.
Shemmer, the former President of the Consumer division at Everyday Health (NYSE: EVDY), is a seasoned leader with unique experience in scaling a commercial business while keeping the consumer forefront in mind.
As President at Everyday Health, Shemmer oversaw the consumer business which serves 50 million patients each month and hundreds of manufacturer, hospital, and payer clients. Prior to his time at Everyday Health, Shemmer co-founded Endeavour Health, a physician network and appointments platform based in the United Kingdom.
“The U.S. spends roughly $2.7 trillion annually caring for the 150 million patients who have at least one chronic disease. This spend is more than the GDP of most countries. No matter how often you hear these figures, they are astonishing,” said Shemmer. “Engaging and educating patients in the appropriate use of medications is critical in improving adherence and in reducing the cost of care. Mango Health has built the definitive, daily mobile experience centered around medications, and I am excited to lead our team as we impact lives, drive outcomes, and transform the way the industry supports patients.”
Jason Oberfest, founder and former CEO of Mango Health will continue to serve as founder and special advisor to the company. Oberfest founded Mango Health in 2011 with the intent to leverage his deep experience in the mobile gaming space to create a best-in-class consumer health app.
“I am thrilled to have Yadin take the helm at Mango Health to spearhead the continued growth of the company. There is no question that he is the best person to move the company forward. I have had the pleasure of working alongside him for the past year, and I have all the confidence in the world in him leading Mango into the future,” said Oberfest.
“We worked side-by-side with Jason and Yadin on this transition, as we understand the importance of a seamless transition for the company,” said Lynne Chou O’Keefe, Mango Health board member representing Kleiner Perkins. “We appreciate the tremendous progress Mango has made under Jason’s leadership, and we look forward to building on this progress with Yadin as Mango’s next CEO.”
