Aerobiotix, Inc. to Exhibit and Sponsor Symposium at Infection Prevention Meeting

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio--()--Aerobiotix, Inc. will be exhibiting at the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) 2018 Annual Conference, June 13-15, 2018 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Illuvia HUAIRS®, a supplemental air decontamination system for Operating Rooms, will be demonstrated at Booth 1009 as the latest technology in fighting airborne bacteria and contamination in the operating room.

Illuvia HUAIRS® combines a patented ultraviolet energy system and advanced filtration to eliminate airborne pathogens in the occupied hospital environment. This includes drug resistant microbes such as MRSA. “The hardest place to kill a pathogen is inside the human body. If we can eliminate the danger in the air before it gets a chance to enter the patient, the human and economic benefits are huge,” states David Kirschman, M.D., founder of Aerobiotix, Inc. At the APIC conference, Aerobiotix will be introducing the latest version of the Illuvia HUAIRS® system, which includes real-time monitoring and logging of air quality parameters in acute settings. “Real-time treatment and monitoring of air quality provides a new tool for infection preventionists to assure the most hygienic care environments are achieved in their facilities,” states Dr. Kirschman.

Aerobiotix will also be sponsoring a breakfast symposium for APIC attendees, The Next Generation SSI Bundle: Why You Should Consider the Operating Room Environment, which explore the correlation between the environment of the operating room and surgical site infection, with emphasis on the contribution of contaminated air to infections. Maureen Spencer, M.Ed, BSN, RN, CIC, FAPIC, will be the speaker, with Sue Barnes, RN, CIC, FAPIC as moderator. The session is Friday, June 15, 6:00-7:45 am, Room 208 A-D Minneapolis Convention Center, and offers a 1.8 CE certificate.
