Vizient, Inc. Announces New Members to its Board of Directors

IRVING, Texas--()--Vizient, Inc., the largest member-driven health care performance company in the country, today announced that its board of directors has appointed three new members.

Joining Vizient’s board are Ralph W. Muller, chief executive officer of the University of Pennsylvania Health System; C.A. Lance Piccolo, president and chief executive officer of HealthPic; and Carol J. Zierhoffer, senior vice president and global chief information officer for Bechtel Corporation, effective today. The appointments increase the number of Vizient directors from 19 to 22.

“Our new board members bring unique talents, expertise and perspectives to Vizient’s already outstanding board,” said Curt Nonomaque, president and chief executive officer. “Collectively, our board strikes a balance between leaders from academic medical centers, community health systems and independent directors – ensuring the right skill sets and expertise are working together to solve health care’s most challenging issues.”

Ralph W. Muller currently oversees three hospitals, a faculty practice plan, a primary care provider network, three multi-specialty satellite facilities, and home care, hospice care, and long-term care for the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Carol J. Zierhoffer is in charge of the vision, strategy and planning for Bechtel’s Global Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) organization. She is responsible for IS&T’s infrastructure technology operations as well as software applications development and deployment of technology solutions into Bechtel business lines and projects.
