Bloom Energy Supports Oxford Firefighters and Local Families Ahead of Georgia-Ole Miss Matchup

Bloom's contribution to the Firefighter Community Fund will support families facing food insecurity across Oxford and Lafayette County

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) continued its season-long partnership with ESPN Radio's College Football Campus Tour this week in Oxford, Mississippi, ahead of Saturday's Georgia-Ole Miss matchup.

Ahead of the game, Bloom visited Oxford Fire Department Station 1 at 399 McElroy Drive and presented a $10,000 donation to the Firefighter Community Fund, a nonprofit established by members of the Oxford Fire Department to support local families facing food insecurity.

The Firefighter Community Fund works with Oxford Love Packs and Commodores Care to provide financial assistance and essential goods to children and families across Oxford and Lafayette County. The organization also provides Thanksgiving meals to families in need, with its work funded through community donations and events including the annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

“The strongest communities are built by people who look out for one another, often in ways most of us never see,” said Natalie Sunderland, Chief Marketing Officer at Bloom Energy. “Oxford’s firefighters do more than respond when their neighbors need help. Through the Firefighter Community Fund, they are addressing needs in their community long before an emergency call comes in. We are proud to support that commitment and the families it reaches across Oxford and Lafayette County.”

“Our firefighters see firsthand the needs families in our community face, and being there for our community is at the heart of what we do,” said Josh Ferguson, Director of the Firefighter Community Fund. “We’re grateful for Bloom Energy’s support, which will help us reach and feed more local families at a time of year when coming together and looking out for our neighbors means so much.”

The Oxford visit is part of Bloom's season-long partnership with ESPN Radio's College Football Campus Tour, which is bringing Bloom to college communities across the country and using each stop to recognize the firefighters and first responders who help keep those communities safe.

Bloom will also be on campus Saturday ahead of the Georgia-Ole Miss game as ESPN Radio's College Football Campus Tour powered by Bloom Energy brings its live broadcast and interactive Fan Zone to Oxford.
