PRISM Vision Group Expands and Enhances Support for Physicians and Patients with Spectrum Vision Partners Acquisition

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PRISM Vision Group (PRISM), a leading provider of general ophthalmology and retina practice administrative services, announced that it has acquired Spectrum Vision Partners (Spectrum), a practice administrative services organization that supports over 150 independent, community-based eye care providers. This acquisition enhances PRISM’s ability to support physicians with technology, operational expertise and practice management resources, allowing supported practices to remain independent while increasing patient access to coordinated, high-quality eye care across the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions.

“The physicians supported by Spectrum Vision Partners are nationally recognized, deeply engaged in advancing the field of ophthalmology, and committed to delivering exceptional care to patients,” said Steven Madreperla, MD, PhD, chief executive officer of PRISM Vision Group. “We are proud to welcome Spectrum and the practices they support into the PRISM network and look forward to supporting their continued success.”

Spectrum-supported practices are known for coordinated, multispecialty care and strong community presence. Headquartered on Long Island, Spectrum supports 58 ophthalmology sites of care and five ambulatory surgery centers spanning New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey and West Virginia.

Founded in 2017, Spectrum Vision Partners prioritizes high standards of care and emphasizes local leadership and operational excellence. Spectrum-associated physicians have long been recognized as leaders in ophthalmology, including multiple past presidents of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

“Our decision to affiliate with PRISM was guided by a shared commitment to superb patient care, physician leadership, clinical quality and long-term sustainability,” said Eric Donnenfeld, MD, and Richard Sturm, MD, managing partners of Spectrum Vision Partners. “PRISM’s focus on supporting local clinical leadership, combined with its operational, research and care coordination capabilities, makes this a strong cultural and strategic fit for our teams and the physicians we support.”

As part of PRISM, the Spectrum-managed practices will emphasize physician-led governance while gaining access to enhanced resources that support clinical care, research opportunities, operational infrastructure and care coordination. The association also creates opportunities to further strengthen retina services, optimize surgical center utilization and expand access for patients to innovative therapies and clinical trials.
