For decades, enterprises have relied on off-the-shelf software that requires businesses to adapt their processes to the limitations of the tools they purchase. When existing products fall short, organizations turn to expensive custom development projects that can take months or years to deliver and become difficult to maintain as business needs evolve. Meanwhile, much of the knowledge required to run an enterprise remains scattered across employees, documents, systems, and disconnected workflows.
Sycamore introduces a different approach: software built around the way an organization actually works, created by the people who understand that work, and continuously improved as the business changes.
“Our vision is a future where agents run enterprises autonomously, with humans in control,” said Sri Viswanath, founder and CEO of Sycamore. “The people who understand a business best should be able to build the software that runs it. Sycamore Build makes that possible, empowering employees to turn their domain expertise into working agents and applications, whether or not they know how to code.”
With Sycamore Build, employees can describe their workflows, provide organizational context, review implementation plans, and participate in testing and deployment. Rather than requiring a detailed technical specification upfront, the platform works with employees to understand the problem, identify missing information, and translate business requirements into an actionable plan. It can use documents, process maps, organizational knowledge, and approved access to existing systems to understand how work gets done. It then researches, designs, develops, connects, and tests the software, coordinating specialized AI agents to execute complex implementation tasks. Throughout the process, employees can review progress, inspect the results, test working applications, and provide feedback.
This collaborative approach brings business experts and technical teams into the same development process, allowing organizations to build software grounded in their actual operations while maintaining visibility and control over how it is created.
While AI has made it easier to generate code and prototype applications, bringing software into production within large organizations requires more than writing code. Enterprise applications must meet requirements for security, reliability, access control, testing, deployment, and ongoing operations. Sycamore is designed to address these requirements as part of the development process. Organizations can define shared standards for identity, permissions, testing, review, and deployment that carry across projects. Sycamore Build incorporates these requirements as it develops software, providing visibility into implementation decisions, test results, and production readiness.
Sycamore Build is generally available starting November 3, 2026. Organizations and individuals can sign up to start building custom enterprise applications and agents at Sycamore.so.
