StoryFlight Labs Names Mike Ginsburg Head of Product and Engineering

New technology leader will strengthen product development, engineering operations & accessibility across the company's assistive communication and AI storytelling platforms

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--StoryFlight Labs, a public benefit corporation supporting people with speech-limiting disabilities and conditions, today announced it has named Mike Ginsburg as Head of Product and Engineering. The appointment strengthens the company’s technical leadership as it expands access to its AI-powered communication and storytelling platforms.

Ginsburg will work alongside CEO Zoe Krislock and Founder and Board Chair David Betts to advance product development, strengthen engineering capabilities, and build the technical foundation needed for growth. In addition to the company’s flagship products – the AI-powered text-to-speech app Talk to Me, Goose! and the personalized storytelling platform Fable's Adventures – Ginsburg will also oversee the company's AI-powered Video Studio, which supports its filmmaking and storytelling work.

“We’ve built products that can make a real difference in people’s lives, and now we are ensuring we have the team and systems in place to keep improving them,” said Betts, who will serve as a technical advisor to Ginsburg. “For people who rely on Talk to Me, Goose! to communicate, accessibility and reliability are essential. I’m looking forward to working with Mike – not to mention benefiting from his decades of experience – to strengthen what we’ve built and take these products further.”

StoryFlight Labs was founded following Betts’ diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which inspired him to develop Talk to Me, Goose! as his own speech became affected. The app uses AI-powered text-to-speech technology, including personal voice cloning, to help people with speech-limiting conditions communicate and maintain their independence. Today, the app is available on iOS, Android, and Windows, with free access provided through the Live Like Lou Foundation.

“I've spent my career building technology that solves meaningful problems, and that's what drew me to StoryFlight Labs,” said Ginsburg. “There's a tremendous opportunity here to use AI in ways that genuinely improve people's lives, whether that's helping someone communicate more independently or giving them new ways to tell their stories. I'm excited to work alongside Zoe, David, and the team to build on what they've already accomplished, strengthen our product and engineering capabilities, and help shape the next chapter of StoryFlight Labs.”

Ginsburg brings more than 20 years of experience in software development and engineering leadership, working with organizations ranging from early-stage startups to large enterprises. Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer at ERIN, an employee referral technology company. He previously held leadership positions at Verato, where he was Vice President of Engineering, as well as Arkos Health, Via Oncology (an Elsevier company), Juvare, and Intermedix. His background spans healthcare technology, enterprise software, and building and leading high-performing engineering teams.

Ginsburg will lead continued improvements to Talk to Me, Goose! across mobile and desktop platforms, with a focus on accessibility, reliability, and delivering new features to users. He will also work closely with Krislock to align technology investments with the company’s growth strategy and public benefit mission.
