Securian Financial Joins Workday Wellness to Advance Connected Employee Benefits Experience

Partnership will create more seamless, real-time connections between Securian’s benefit solutions, employers and their employees

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Securian Financial today announced it is joining the Workday Wellness partner program, a benefits technology ecosystem designed to create a more connected experience between employers, employees and their benefit providers.

As an official Workday Wellness partner, Securian is strengthening its relationship with Workday, one of the leading employee benefits administration platforms and one of the most widely used platforms among Securian’s customers. Securian plans to begin phased development of Workday Wellness integrations in 2027, with additional capabilities planned through 2028.

Workday Wellness is designed to simplify how employers connect with benefit providers, create more embedded benefits experiences within Workday and support more efficient, API-driven data exchange. As Securian develops its Workday Wellness capabilities, the partnership is expected to provide mutual customers with a more connected and streamlined experience while helping reduce administrative complexity.

“Employers increasingly expect their benefits technology and insurance providers to work together seamlessly, and joining Workday Wellness is an important step in delivering that experience,” said Leslee Russell, enrollment platforms manager for Securian Financial’s Employee Benefits Solutions business. “By creating more direct, real-time connections between Workday and Securian, we can make benefits administration easier for employers, improve the experience for employees and continue meeting our customers where they choose to manage their benefits.”

Securian’s initial Workday Wellness development is expected to focus on APIs supporting real-time worker data and enrollment capabilities, including the exchange of employee, eligibility and enrollment information and real-time evidence of insurability (EOI). The move from traditional file-based integrations toward APIs can enable information to flow more efficiently between benefits administration platforms and insurance carriers, helping create faster, more connected experiences.

The partnership reinforces Securian’s ongoing investment in benefits technology through Securian Platform Connect—its API integration program designed to create faster, more seamless data connections between Securian and benefits administration platforms—and its commitment to providing customers with flexible connectivity options that complement the technology they already use.

“Benefits technology continues to evolve quickly, and our customers are looking for solutions that make it easier to connect their systems and manage their programs,” Russell said. “Our participation in Workday Wellness positions Securian to build the next generation of integrations our customers will need and helps us deliver a simpler, more connected benefits experience over time.”
