Wattch Selected by Encore Renewable Energy to Advance Asset Management Across Growing Northeast Fleet
Leading community solar IPP moves 31.5MWdc of Solar and 7MWac/28MWh of storage across nine operating sites to the Wattch platform.
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wattch, a next-generation provider of cloud-based energy monitoring, intelligence, and controls solutions, today announced it has been selected by Encore Renewable Energy, a leading community solar independent power producer (IPP) listed among Solar Power World's 2026 Top Solar Contractors, to serve as the data acquisition and control backbone for Encore's growing fleet of community solar, solar-plus-storage, and standalone battery energy storage assets. Under the agreement, Encore has transitioned 31.5MWdc of solar and 7MWac/28MWh of existing operating assets across nine sites to the Wattch platform and will soon incorporate an additional sixteen projects, adding 79.4MWdc of solar and 5MW/20MWhr of BESS to the portfolio.
“Wattch took the time to understand how we operate and what our engineering team actually needs in the field.”

“Encore has been a thoughtful partner from our very first conversations, and their input has directly shaped the capabilities we're delivering today,” said Alex Nussey, Co-Founder and CEO at Wattch. “As they scale as a leading community solar IPP, having clear visibility into where energy and revenue are being lost is essential. We're proud to give their team the tools to turn operational data into faster, smarter asset management decisions across their entire fleet.”
The selection followed extended discussions between the two companies, during which Wattch gathered input on the capabilities most critical to Encore as it expanded its owned assets in the region. Wattch will work with Encore to support remote diagnostics across Encore's portfolio, with a particular focus on pinpointing the sources of operational losses and using that data to prioritize both corrective and proactive O&M.
Encore's existing operating sites were converted from another monitoring provider and retrofitted to the Wattch platform with minimal hardware CapEx, a key factor in Encore's decision. Because Wattch supports solar, solar-plus-storage, and standalone storage projects on a single platform, Encore is also positioned to manage a more diverse fleet as its pipeline comes online.
“Wattch took the time to understand how we operate and what our engineering team actually needs in the field,” said Doug MacDonald, VP of Engineering, Encore Renewable Energy. “Having a platform that supports all our assets means we can bring new projects online with confidence that our monitoring and controls will scale with us.”
