State Grid Corporation of China Empowers China-Brazil Power Innovation Synergy and China’s Advanced Experience Supports Brazil’s Sustainable Energy Development

CAMPINAS, Brazil--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On October 26 local time, CPFL Energia, run by State Grid Corporation of China, held the “New-Quality Productivity Workshop” China-Brazil Power Innovation Exchange Forum simultaneously in Campinas and Porto Alegre, Brazil. State Grid International Development Co., Ltd. and State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power joined the cross-border technical seminars and the release of innovation achievements. The week-long event drew over 6,000 power employees from China and abroad, online and offline, building a pragmatic platform for China-Brazil power innovation collaboration.

Since acquiring CPFL Energia, State Grid has continued to deepen its presence in Brazil, advance China-Brazil energy innovation synergy and upgrade the regular innovation dialogue mechanism of the “New-Quality Productivity Workshop.” This has established a long-term channel for China-Brazil power technology alignment, achievement transformation and experience sharing, promoting the overseas application of China’s mature power operation and maintenance and advanced smart grid experience.

The forum showcased a number of advanced technologies from State Grid and China-Brazil joint innovation achievements, covering six jointly developed technologies and more than ten technologies independently developed by State Grid, including an automatic grounding wire installation and removal device, a lightweight operation robot, anti-condensation coatings, high-voltage live-line working tools and an intelligent substation monitoring system, demonstrating deep integration of Chinese power technology with Brazil’s.

During the event, Chinese and Brazilian experts held discussions on challenges in power grid operation and maintenance, carried out field research at local dispatch and power trading centers and completed real-scenario verification of substation equipment. Through result certification, solution releases and cooperation signings, they accelerated the local application of Chinese lightweight robots, intelligent drone inspection and power grid anti-bird baffles.

Since entering the Brazilian market, State Grid has kept opening channels for power experience exchange and achievement transformation between the two countries. In November 2024, State Grid Brazil Holding S.A. worked with relevant institutions, enterprises and universities of both countries to establish the China–Brazil Electric Innovation and Sharing Alliance (EISA), a platform for information sharing, technological innovation and experience exchange. Over the past two years, it has held multiple technical seminars and special events. State Grid has consistently advanced China-Brazil energy industry synergy through pragmatic cooperation, contributing to the two countries’ energy transition and high-quality sustainable development.
