Wire 3 Launches Pre-Sales in Macon, Marking Significant Progress in Georgia Expansion
Fiber internet provider celebrates with community ribbon cutting and $5,000 donation to Brookdale Resource Center
MACON, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wire 3, a leading 100% fiber internet provider, today announced the official launch of pre-sales in Macon during a ribbon-cutting celebration hosted by the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. Wire 3 is investing more than $60 million in the Macon area without the use of taxpayer dollars, with its planned network expected to reach more than 60,000 homes and businesses across the Greater Macon area. The milestone brings Wire 3 one step closer to connecting its first customers in Georgia, with the first customers expected to be connected in the coming weeks.
The event brought together Wire 3 team members, community partners and local leaders to celebrate the company’s progress in Macon and officially open the market for pre-sales, now available online at wire3.com/macon-ga.
“I want to thank Wire 3 for their investment in our community and providing people with more access to high-speed internet service,” said Mayor Lester Miller, Macon-Bibb County. “From online learning to research to applying for schools to searching for jobs, there isn’t an aspect of our lives that can’t be better accessed with quality internet."
“Today is a great day for Wire 3 and the City of Macon,” said Jai Ramachandran, Wire 3 CEO. “We were drawn to Macon because it’s a growing, thriving community that deserves better internet and a real provider choice. Opening pre-sales is an exciting milestone, and we’re proud to be just around the corner from connecting our first Georgia customers.”
During the celebration, Wire 3 also presented a $5,000 donation to Brookdale Resource Center, a Macon organization that provides food, shelter and resources that help people find long-term housing. Since announcing its Macon expansion, Wire 3 has supported the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank, North Macon ACES Little League, Macon Outreach at Mulberry, Loaves and Fishes Ministry of Macon and the Macon Market.
“Our promise at Wire 3 is simple: Wired for Good,” said Ramachandran. “For us, that means showing up for the communities we serve. We’re honored to support Brookdale Resource Center and the important work they do for people across Macon.”
“Brookdale’s work is made stronger when businesses actively invest in our community, beyond their own work,” said Alison Bender, Brookdale Resource Center Executive Director. “We’re grateful to Wire 3 for this generous donation and for their commitment to investing in the community as they make Macon their home.”
“Thank you to Wire 3 for immediately working to become a valued member of our community with this generous donation to the Brookdale Resource Center,” added Mayor Miller. “This will be of great help in its mission to provide people and families a safe and stable place to stay and find their way to a path toward homeownership.”
