Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. Celebrates Opening of Advanced Switchgear Factory in Western Pennsylvania

NEW GALILEE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) celebrated the grand opening of its new Advanced Switchgear Factory on October 15, marking a major milestone in the company’s ongoing investment to strengthen electric grid infrastructure and support growing energy demand across North America. The 160,000-square-foot factory, part of MEPPI's previously announced $86 million investment, is expected to expand domestic production capacity for critical transmission and distribution equipment.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together MEPPI customers, board members, and executives for remarks, a ceremonial opening, and guided tours of the state-of-the-art manufacturing factory located in New Galilee, Pennsylvania. Guests saw firsthand how MEPPI is integrating advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and modern production processes to meet the evolving demands of the nation’s energy transition, while maintaining its rigorous standards for safety, quality, and reliability.
