Verily Health and Autoimmune Registry Partner to Build Cross-Disease Research Infrastructure for Autoimmune Conditions

Collaboration creates a replicable model for patient registries and opens a consented longitudinal autoimmune cohort to researchers

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Verily Health Inc., a healthcare data intelligence company, today announced a strategic partnership with Autoimmune Registry Inc. (ARI), a nonprofit nominated for the inaugural 2026 Prix Galien Patient First Award in Honor of Michael J. Fox for its work studying autoimmune diseases, the populations they affect, and how they co-occur and progress over time. Through the partnership, Verily Health will provide the patient engagement, research infrastructure, and analytics needed to expand ARI's registry and make its data accessible to researchers across the autoimmune disease community.

Verily Health and ARI expect the partnership to expand over time, with additional capabilities and data sources added as the collaboration matures and the registry continues to grow.

Autoimmune diseases affect an estimated 15 million1 people in the United States, and many live with more than one condition. Yet most registries focus on a single disease, leaving the connections between conditions largely unstudied. ARI was established in 2016 to close that gap: modeled on national cancer registries, it is inclusive of all autoimmune diseases and designed to capture how they co-occur and progress over time.

The partnership gives researchers, pharmaceutical companies, and other patient registries a consented, cross-disease cohort and a repeatable infrastructure model they couldn’t build alone. Patients living with more than one autoimmune condition benefit most, as research finally follows how their diseases connect and progress.

What the partnership delivers:

  • Participant engagement and enrollment: Registry participants can join through the Verily Me app and the IRB-consented Lifelong Health Study, which combines care and research engagement opportunities in a single experience. This framework will help ARI grow its participant base and build a robust, consented research dataset.
  • A trusted research environment: Researchers will access registry data through Verily Workbench, a secure environment with built-in governance and analytics, and share datasets with collaborating organizations through Verily Exchange. Verily Workbench and Exchange are key components of Verily Pre, Verily Health’s governed health AI platform.
  • End-to-end support: Verily Health will provide delivery management, dataset curation, management of sensitive data, and research engagement strategy across life sciences, health systems, payers, government and research organizations.

For researchers and life science partners

ARI’s registry offers a cross-disease, longitudinal cohort of more than 5,000 participants spanning over 100 autoimmune conditions, including patient-reported outcomes, medical history, and comorbidity data. All participation is IRB-overseen and consented for research use. Through Verily Exchange, pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and other research organizations can partner with ARI on questions that single-disease datasets cannot answer, from comorbidity patterns and disease progression to treatment response across conditions.

For patient registries

The partnership is designed as a repeatable model. Disease registries and patient advocacy organizations can work with Verily Health to gain the same capabilities, including participant enrollment, secure data governance, and research-grade curation, without building and maintaining the infrastructure themselves.

"Precision health depends on data infrastructure that most organizations can’t build alone, and that’s the gap Verily Health can close," said Stephen Gillett, Chairman and CEO of Verily Health. "Our work with ARI is a model we intend to bring to other disease communities, so that every registry can become a foundation for discovery.”

"For years, ARI has known that studying autoimmune diseases together, rather than one at a time, is the key to understanding them," said Mette Dyhrberg, Executive Director of Autoimmune Registry Inc. "Partnering with Verily Health gives us the infrastructure to make that data available to researchers at scale, and we welcome pharmaceutical, academic, and clinical partners who want to work with us on the questions this cohort can finally answer."

Verily Health and ARI expect the partnership to expand over time, with additional capabilities and data sources added as the collaboration matures and the registry continues to grow.

About Autoimmune Registry Inc.

Autoimmune Registry, Inc. (ARI), founded in 2016, is a nonprofit organization that studies autoimmune disease as a connected class of conditions rather than isolated diagnoses. Modeled on national cancer registries, ARI’s cross-disease registry captures longitudinal, patient-reported data often missing from traditional research to reveal how diseases connect, develop, and progress.
