Carr, Riggs & Ingram M&A Advisors selects Intapp DealCloud with Celeste to power its AI strategy for deal origination and relationship management

The M&A advisory arm of a Top 25 U.S. accounting firm turns to agentic AI to scale its deal pipeline without adding headcount

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Intapp (NASDAQ: INTA), the governed AI platform for professional firms in highly regulated industries, today announced that Carr, Riggs & Ingram M&A Advisors has selected Intapp DealCloud with Celeste as its platform for relationship management and deal tracking.

Carr, Riggs & Ingram M&A Advisors is a division of one of the 25 largest accounting and advisory firms in the U.S., based in Alabama. Its business is intensely relationship-driven, focusing primarily on sell-side engagements in the middle market. That makes the ability to identify the right buyers, track deal progress, and manage origination efficiently especially important.

For smaller and midmarket advisory teams, these capabilities are a competitive necessity, particularly without a large support staff. As independent sponsors, boutique banks, and spin-offs from large institutions increasingly populate the lower middle market, the firms that move fastest with the fewest people are the ones winning mandates.

Carr, Riggs & Ingram M&A Advisors reached a turning point when its prior technology failed to keep pace with its ambitions. The team recognized that its existing CRM lacked the AI capability it needed, and that the manual overhead of maintaining its prior system was consuming time the team needed for deal activity. The firm made the decision to replace its prior platform with a purpose-built solution.

The team selected Intapp Celeste, the expert AI coworker built to run the business workflows of professional firms. Celeste uses a firm’s proprietary data, methods, and compliance requirements to run workflows like deal screening, buyer list generation, origination, and pipeline management. It also uses natural language querying so advisors can easily interact with the firm’s data without having to learn the vocabulary of a database. By surfacing buyer lists, updating deal notes, and automating workflows, Celeste reduces manual effort and boosts operational productivity.

The firm also added DealCloud’s integrated marketing capability, Dispatch, to consolidate deal tracking, relationship management, and marketing metrics into a single system.

The implementation was delivered in partnership with Monarch, an Intapp Certified Channel Partner, which supported the Carr, Riggs & Ingram M&A Advisors team through onboarding while enabling the firm to maintain compliance with FINRA standards.

Brandon Maddox, Partner, Carr, Riggs & Ingram M&A Advisors

“Our team needed to scale without simply adding people. We recognized early that having an AI strategy in place was going to be the difference between growing the pipeline and managing it from behind. Celeste gave us the ability to work the way we actually think, and that was the deciding factor. The gap between firms that have a real AI strategy and those that don’t is widening faster than most people realize.”

Brian Bissonette, Industry Principal, Investment Banking, Intapp

“What we see in the middle market is a structural shift. Advisory teams of four or eight people are competing with firms that have multiples of their headcount. The ones closing the gap are the ones that have built an AI strategy around how the firm actually works, not just how individual practitioners work. Carr, Riggs & Ingram M&A Advisors came in with that strategy already formed. Celeste gives it operational reality.”
