EQUS Collaborates with Universities and Launches First Education Challenge in the US

In response to growing interest from universities in hands-on privacy and identity verification learning, students in Dr. Hamid Ahady Dolatsara‘s class will use EQUS X to evaluate AI tools

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EQUS, a new personal AI solution, today announced a faculty collaboration with Dr. Hamid, a faculty member at the School of Business at Clark University and the Northeastern D'Amore-McKim School of Business, to launch its first EQUS Education Challenge, a collaborative program that brings hands-on data ownership work into the classroom. The first challenge will run this fall.

Through this, students will put EQUS X to work on real-world business problems, using it to analyze sets of business documents and uncover meaningful insights. Along the way, they’ll highlight the use cases where EQUS X shines and share practical feedback to help shape its future development. Students will use EQUS X to evaluate the power of data ownership. Finalist students will then present their work to a panel of EQUS judges. Following a successful beta, EQUS X is now generally available to customers in the US. EQUS X will be free until the end of the year. EQUS X can be accessed at EqusX.ai.

EQUS will provide classroom access to its tools, a kick-off session, feedback on projects, and recognition for the top students.

"Students learn data ownership best when they have to protect real-looking data under real deadlines. This challenge gives them that experience and a direct connection to the people building AI identity and data ownership tools,” said Dr. Hamid.

The challenge is faculty-led. Dr. Hamid designs the challenge, sets the learning goals, chooses how it fits his syllabus, and grades all student work. EQUS supports the course with tools and expertise but does not shape the curriculum or receive student grades.

“Universities are where the next generation decides how much of their digital lives they’re willing to give away. Students deserve to own their data and prove who they are on their own terms. Working with Dr. Hamid’s class is our first step in bringing those tools to higher education, and we’re starting where it matters most: with the students themselves and with real world use cases,” said Sandy Carter, CEO of EQUS.

This is the first EQUS Education Challenge, and EQUS intends to expand the program. EQUS invites universities and educators everywhere to bring real-world privacy and identity verification challenges to their classrooms. Applications for collaborating in new education challenges across the globe are open now, and spots for upcoming challenges are limited. If you’re interested in bringing the EQUS Education Challenge to your organization, you can find more information at Equs.ai.

About EQUS

EQUS builds the trust layer between people and the AI that acts for them, and builds it to belong to the person rather than the platform. The platform gives each person somewhere to keep their data, proof of who their AI is acting for, and control over what it may do: a private data store the individual controls, credentials that disclose only what a given interaction requires, and permissions granted and revoked file by file, with a record of everything the AI has been given.
