TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--At a media conference tomorrow, representatives of CUPE Ontario, the Ontario NDP and the Ontario Compensation Employees Union, CUPE 1750 will outline the harmful effects of WSIB’s decision to centralize the agency’s services in Toronto.
In September, WSIB closed ten regional offices, robbing those communities of more than 700 jobs and significantly downgrading levels of service to injured workers and employers. Speakers at the news conference will outline the role of the Ford Conservatives in the WSIB action and the consequences that the closures and job losses have had on levels of service to injured workers, employers and communities.
