NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP, a leading national securities law firm, is investigating potential claims against Gildan Activewear Inc. (“Gildan Activewear” or the “Company”) (NYSE: GIL) and reminds investors of the December 14, 2026 deadline to seek the role of lead plaintiff in a federal securities class action that has been filed against the Company.

Faruqi & Faruqi is a leading national securities law firm with offices in New York, Pennsylvania, California and Georgia. The firm has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for investors since its founding in 1995. See www.faruqilaw.com.

As detailed below, the complaint alleges that the Company and its executives violated federal securities laws by making false and/or misleading statements and/or failing to disclose that: (1) Gildan did not have adequate internal controls; (2) Gildan used channel stuffing to create an appearance of revenue; and (3) as a result, Defendants' statements about Gildan's business, operations, and prospects, were materially false and misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis at all times.

On June 16, 2026, Jehoshaphat Research published a report disclosing that Gildan "has been stuffing the channel for several years, persistently and increasingly, resulting in disproportionate outstanding receivables at each successive quarter end," claiming the company's organic growth had been negative for years despite appearing to show revenue growth, and alleging a product overhang worth approximately $500 million. On this news, Gildan's stock price fell $11.63, or 18.7%, to close at $50.34 per share on June 16, 2026.

The court-appointed lead plaintiff is the investor with the largest financial interest in the relief sought by the class who is adequate and typical of class members who directs and oversees the litigation on behalf of the putative class. Any member of the putative class may move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff through counsel of their choice, or may choose to do nothing and remain an absent class member. Your ability to share in any recovery is not affected by the decision to serve as a lead plaintiff or not.

Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP also encourages anyone with information regarding Gildan Activewear’s conduct to contact the firm, including whistleblowers, former employees, shareholders and others.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Investors Regarding the Gildan Activewear Securities Class Action Lawsuit:

What is the Gildan Activewear securities fraud lawsuit about?

The lawsuit alleges that Gildan Activewear Inc. (NYSE: GIL) engaged in securities fraud during the Class Period by allegedly maintaining inadequate internal controls and allegedly employing channel stuffing to artificially inflate the appearance of revenue growth. Specifically, the complaint alleges that Gildan's organic growth had in fact been negative for years, even as reported revenues appeared to grow, and that the company allegedly created a product overhang of approximately $500 million through persistent and increasing channel stuffing practices. As a result, the lawsuit alleges that Defendants' public statements concerning Gildan's business, operations, and prospects were materially false and misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis throughout the Class Period. These allegations were brought to light following the publication of a short-seller research report on June 16, 2026.

Who may be eligible to participate in the lawsuit?

Investors who purchased or otherwise acquired Gildan Activewear Inc. (NYSE: GIL) securities on the NYSE between February 19, 2025 and June 15, 2026, inclusive, may be eligible to participate in this lawsuit. Eligibility is not limited to those who seek appointment as lead plaintiff; any investor who purchased during the Class Period and suffered losses may potentially share in any recovery obtained. Investors are encouraged to review their trading records for the relevant period to determine whether their purchases fall within the defined Class Period. Consulting with legal counsel can help investors assess their potential eligibility and options.

What is a lead plaintiff, and how can I seek appointment?

A lead plaintiff is a court-appointed representative who acts on behalf of the entire class of similarly situated investors in directing the litigation, including selecting and overseeing lead counsel. Any class member who purchased Gildan Activewear securities during the Class Period and suffered a loss may move the court for appointment as lead plaintiff, and the deadline to file such a motion is December 14, 2026. Courts typically appoint the movant with the largest financial interest in the relief sought, provided that movant also satisfies the requirements of Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 23. Importantly, investors need not seek or serve as lead plaintiff to participate in or share in any recovery that may result from this lawsuit.
