Fi Ultra™ Named to TIME's Best Inventions of 2026

Fi, maker of the world’s smartest pet wearables, developed the first dog tracker powered by T-Satellite with Starlink, combining always-on GPS and LTE connectivity in a single device.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today TIME reveals its annual list of the Best Inventions featuring 300 extraordinary innovations changing our lives. Fi Ultra™, a cutting-edge GPS dog tracker and the world’s first consumer wearable powered by T-Satellite with Starlink, was among the 2026 honorees recognized in the Outdoors category.

“Fi Ultra was built on a simple belief: a dog’s freedom shouldn’t end where the cell signal does,” said Jonathan Bensamoun, co-founder and CEO of Fi. “Becoming the first company to leverage T-Satellite with Starlink was a major milestone for our team and a testament to what’s possible when ambitious engineering meets a clear mission. Being recognized as one of TIME’s Best Inventions is an incredible honor and a reflection of the work our teams across hardware, engineering, product, design, and brand have put into pushing the boundaries of pet technology and strengthening the human-animal bond.”

To compile this year’s list, TIME solicited nominations from TIME editors and correspondents worldwide and through an online application process, paying special attention to growing fields such as healthcare and AI. TIME then evaluated each contender on key factors, including originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact.

Launched in July 2026, Fi Ultra solves the biggest limitation of traditional GPS trackers: the moment a dog moves beyond a cell tower’s reach, owners lose visibility. By integrating T-Satellite with Starlink directly into the device, Fi Ultra uses Low Earth Orbit satellites to keep dogs trackable nearly anywhere in the U.S., including areas with no cellular coverage.

Fi Ultra sets itself apart with features including:

  • T-Satellite with Starlink: Tracks a dog’s location nearly anywhere in the U.S., including areas entirely without cellular coverage.
  • Automatic Switching: Connects to LTE when available and to T-Satellite with Starlink when cellular networks are out of reach, with no action required.
  • Dual-Band High-Accuracy GPS: Delivers precise, real-time location data whether connected via satellite, LTE, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
  • Fi Callback™: A proprietary training system based on sound and vibration that brings dogs back to their owners on command, with no static shock.
  • Multi-Day Battery Life: Runs multiple days on a single charge, built for extended trips and remote exploration.

Fi Ultra joins Fi’s lineup of smart pet wearables, which includes Series 3+, the world’s most powerful GPS and health tracker with up to three months of battery life, and Fi Mini, the world’s smallest and lightest tracker for dogs and cats. Together, Fi’s devices track your pet’s location, health, and habits, helping them live their safest, healthiest, and most adventurous lives.
