Misora Connect Joins AECC, Adding Connectivity Expertise to Trusted DataOps Work

WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Automotive Edge Computing Consortium (AECC) today announced that Misora Connect, Inc. has joined the consortium as an affiliate member, strengthening the AECC’s expertise in wireless connectivity and connected-vehicle services.

Misora Connect provides mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) services to corporate customers across a range of applications, including IoT and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications. Its customers include companies in the automotive, transportation, industrial machinery and power generation sectors, as well as organizations requiring corporate mobile communications and short-term connectivity services.

The company joins AECC at an important point in the development of the Trusted DataOps Special Interest Group (SIG), which examines questions around trusted data operations in connected-vehicle environments. Misora Connect’s experience as a connectivity provider gives the SIG an additional perspective on how data is generated, attributed, used and governed across connected systems.

“We are honored to join the Trusted DataOps SIG so soon after its formation,” said Fuminobu Moriyama, General Manager, Systems & Technology Department, Misora Connect, Inc. “Connected-vehicle data management begins with communication, which is why questions around data ownership, consent, usage rights, and the ability to withdraw consent are highly relevant to us as an MVNO. We joined AECC to contribute our perspective as a provider of connectivity services for IoT and mobility customers across Japan and to help advance this important industry conversation. As the Trusted DataOps SIG begins its work, we are excited to collaborate with fellow members to help establish the foundations for trusted, responsible data operations.”

“The AECC benefits when organizations with different positions across the connected-vehicle value chain contribute their perspectives to our technical discussions,” noted the AECC Board in a joint statement. “We look forward to working with Misora Connect as the group develops a shared understanding of the requirements for trusted data operations in connected-vehicle environments.”
