Powerpay Unveils New Platform for Canadian Small and Mid-Sized Businesses
New employee and manager experiences, time and scheduling capabilities, and AI-powered Powerpay Answers create a more connected foundation for managing and paying people
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Powerpay unveiled a new platform designed to simplify how Canadian small and mid-sized businesses manage and pay their people. Part of Dayforce Canada Ltd., Powerpay is trusted by more than 46,000 businesses across Canada.
Unveiled at Powerday 2026, Powerpay’s inaugural customer and partner summit, the first release introduces redesigned employee and manager experiences, new time and scheduling capabilities, and Powerpay Answers, an AI-powered experience that makes workforce information easier to access and understand. Powerpay’s payroll experience is expected to move onto the new platform in early 2027, bringing more workforce workflows together in one connected experience.
“Small businesses shouldn’t need to stitch together multiple systems to manage and pay their people,” said Behrad Bayanpour, General Manager of Powerpay. “They need technology that is simple to use, can grow with them, and increasingly takes administrative work off their plate. That’s what we’re building with the new Powerpay.”
This release marks the first step in Powerpay’s transition to its new platform foundation. With payroll expected to move onto the platform in early 2027, Powerpay is building toward a more connected experience across payroll, HR, time, and scheduling.
“Across Dayforce, we believe organizations should not have to manage work through fragmented systems and disconnected data,” said David Ossip, CEO and Founder of Dayforce. “Powerpay is bringing that same principle to Canadian small and mid-sized businesses, combining simplicity with greater capability and creating a foundation where intelligence and automation can increasingly take work out of the system for the people using it.”
Powerday marks 25 years of Powerpay
The announcement comes as Powerpay celebrates 25 years serving Canadian businesses. Launched in 2001 as a payroll solution, Powerpay has evolved to support broader HR and workforce needs, and today serves more than 46,000 businesses across Canada.
Powerday 2026, took place on September 30 in Toronto with virtual access available nationwide, bringing together customers, partners, and leaders from across Canada’s business community to explore new technology and share ideas for running and growing a business in Canada.
