Kalshi Taps Ballotpedia To Expand 2026 Midterms Data

New My Ballot feature uses Ballotpedia's verified, nonpartisan Sample Ballot data alongside Kalshi's market-driven forecasts.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kalshi, the next-generation derivatives exchange, today launched My Ballot in its Midterms Hub. The personalized guide uses data from Ballotpedia's nonpartisan Sample Ballot Lookup Tool, the most comprehensive source of ballot information nationwide, to show Americans the races on their ballot. Kalshi then pairs those races with its own market forecasts where it has active markets.

Bringing down-ballot races to each user is crucial to achieving Kalshi's mission of educating voters and fighting polarization. Midterm elections typically draw lower turnout than presidential election years, and many voters head to the polls knowing little about the races further down the ticket. Kalshi looks to fill this gap with My Ballot.

My Ballot, built with data from Ballotpedia, will add depth to Kalshi's existing midterms data product. Users will see the contests on their ballot, from U.S. Senate, House, and governor races down to state legislative races and statewide ballot measures. Kalshi uses Ballotpedia's election data to match each user's address to the races on their ballot, then shows Kalshi's market data for races where it has active markets. My Ballot adds to the Race Intel data provided by VoteHub, which includes polling averages, FEC fundraising data, and past presidential results.

The launch builds on how people already use Kalshi during election season. More than 80% of visitors to the Kalshi Midterms Hub do not trade, instead using the platform as an addition to their media diet.

The market forecasts in The Midterms Hub are not created by Kalshi. Prices are set on an open, public order book by people putting their own money behind their views and trading against one another, the same way prices form on any financial exchange. Every trade is public and every price move is visible. When thousands of participants with different information and different politics compete in one market, that price becomes a crowdsourced, continuously updated signal of where a race stands. It comes from the bottom up, from the people, rather than from pundits, partisan messaging or campaign spin.

"Markets are an antidote to partisan misinformation. Our election contracts create accurate forecasts that help people understand the world better. Adding Ballotpedia's nonpartisan ballot information will make our product even stronger."
— Tarek Mansour, co-founder and CEO of Kalshi

"For nearly two decades, voters, journalists, researchers, campaigns, and government agencies have turned to Ballotpedia for verified, nonpartisan information on politics, policy, and elections," said Leslie Graves, Ballotpedia founder and CEO. "Our content is researched and maintained by professional editorial staff. Our goal is simple: helping voters find accurate information about what's on their ballot, wherever they look for it."

My Ballot is available now on Kalshi’s website and mobile app and will cover every race with an active Kalshi market through Election Day.
