Standard Solar Expands Washington Portfolio with Acquisition of Two Solar Projects from OneEnergy Renewables

Projects will deliver nearly 16 MW of clean energy to rural utilities in Connell and Othello, Washington

ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Standard Solar, a leading developer, owner and operator of commercial and community solar assets, today announced the acquisition of two solar projects in Washington from OneEnergy Renewables, marking the companies’ first projects together in the state.

“These projects are an important example of how local utilities can bring the benefits of renewable energy directly to the communities they serve," said Eric Partyka, Director of Business Development, Standard Solar.

The projects — Palouse Junction in Connell and Cunningham in Othello — will bring a combined 15.79 megawatts (MW) of new ground-mounted solar capacity to eastern Washington. Together, the projects are expected to generate more than 29,000 megawatt-hours of clean electricity in their first year of operation.

The acquisitions reflect Standard Solar’s continued growth in distributed generation and community-scale solar markets, while also highlighting the important role rural utilities are playing in the clean energy transition. The projects’ offtakers, Franklin Public Utility District and Big Bend Electric Cooperative, demonstrate how local utilities are embracing renewable energy to strengthen their power supply, support long-term energy planning and deliver locally generated clean electricity to their communities.

The projects also underscore Standard Solar’s active interest in acquiring additional solar projects in Washington and across the Pacific Northwest. With access to safe-harbored solar panels and a proven long-term ownership model, Standard Solar is well-positioned to help developers, utilities and local communities move qualified projects from development to construction and operation.

“Rural utilities are essential partners in expanding access to clean energy,” said Eric Partyka, Director of Business Development, Standard Solar. “These projects are an important example of how local utilities can bring the benefits of renewable energy directly to the communities they serve. We are proud to expand our presence in Washington and to work with OneEnergy Renewables on projects that support practical, locally driven clean energy growth.”

Located in Connell, Washington, the 12.1 MW DC Palouse Junction project is expected to produce approximately 22,339 MWh of electricity in its first year. Franklin Public Utility District will serve as the project’s offtaker of 10 MW AC. The project is expected to be completed in Q1 of 2027.

The 3.69 MW DC Cunningham project, located in Othello, Washington, is expected to produce approximately 6,917 MWh of electricity in its first year. Big Bend Electric Cooperative will serve as the project’s offtaker of 3 MW AC. The project is also expected to be completed in Q1 of 2027.

OneEnergy Renewables is the developer and engineering, procurement and construction provider for both projects.

“We are excited to partner with Standard Solar on these Washington projects and to help deliver reliable, locally generated renewable energy to rural utility customers,” said Erin Lynch, Senior Manager of Development, OneEnergy Renewables. “Palouse Junction and Cunningham reflect the value of thoughtful solar development that aligns with local utility needs and supports Washington’s broader clean energy future.”

The Palouse Junction and Cunningham projects add to Standard Solar’s growing portfolio of owned and operated distributed energy assets across the United States. By acquiring, owning and operating projects from development through long-term operation, Standard Solar continues to support developers, utilities, customers and communities with solar solutions designed for long-term performance.
