Wyze Brings 87% Fewer Alerts with AI 'Stories' now available to Any Camera for $4.99 a Month

New Pro AI add-on gives an individual Wyze camera all the top AI and storage benefits of the $19.99 security plan

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wyze today announced a new Pro AI add-on that puts Wyze Stories, the multi-camera AI feature introduced on Sept. 1, within reach of any Wyze household for $4.99 per camera per month. Until now, Wyze Stories was available only through the $19.99/month Cam Unlimited Pro plan. Stories groups footage from multiple cameras into a single event and sends one descriptive notification instead of one per camera.

Since launch, households with multiple cameras have averaged an 87% reduction in notifications.

The announcement is part of multiple add-on services announced today, including 24/7 cloud recording for $4.99/camera and 60 day event recording for $2.99/camera.

The add-on layers are on top of any existing Wyze setup, including free accounts and Cam Plus and Cam Unlimited, so a household can start with the one or two cameras that matter most and add more over time.

How Wyze Stories works: one event, one notification

Wyze Stories is the most advanced AI feature developed by Wyze. Picture a delivery driver pulling into the driveway, walking up the path and setting a box on the porch. Most camera systems treat each camera as a separate sensor, so three cameras send three alerts for one delivery. Wyze Stories treats the cameras as a single system. Wyze AI recognizes that the three clips belong to the same event, stitches them into one continuous story, and sends one notification with a written summary: “A white FedEx truck delivered a large package while a small dog watched.”

A second layer of AI scores every event for importance. High-importance events get an instant push alert and a featured spot in the Stories feed. Repetitive, low-priority triggers stop generating alerts but remain available in the app. Everything else is waiting in a daily, swipeable feed, so people can catch up on their own time instead of being pinged all day.

Since launch, households with multiple cameras have averaged an 87% reduction in notifications. Wyze Stories works best with multiple Wyze Cams, but the benefits of reducing notifications on an individual camera are still noteworthy. The importance score filters out uninteresting events while the event grouping combines repeated events happening in front of the same camera, like kids playing basketball in the driveway.

Priced per camera, not per home

“When we started Wyze, our principle was simple: make great technologies accessible to everyone," said Dongsheng Song, Co-Founder and CPO at Wyze. "We did that with a $20 camera. Stories applies that same principle to AI, starting at $4.99 per camera. We're adding a path so more households can experience what AI can do for their cameras.”

Two cameras covering the driveway and front door come to $9.98 per month. Households that want every camera covered can still choose Cam Unlimited Pro ($19.99/month), which includes all AI features, 60 days of cloud recording, 24/7 emergency dispatch and support for unlimited Wyze Cams.

What the Pro AI add-on includes

  • Multi-Camera Event Grouping: combines continuous action across participating cameras into one story.
  • Event Importance Filtering: limits repetitive alerts while prominent thumbnails and instant pushes go to high-importance events.
  • Wyze Stories feed: a daily, social-style highlight reel with tap, hold, swipe and 2x playback gestures, plus AI-written summaries and titles.
  • AI Video Search: find footage with natural language, such as “Find when the package arrived.”
  • Camera control: choose which cameras are included in Stories.

Pricing and availability

The Pro AI add-on is available starting today for $4.99 per camera per month. Wyze Stories via Pro AI is compatible with most Wyze Cams, excluding Wyze Cam v1, Wyze Doorbell v1 and Wyze Cam Outdoor v1/v2.

24/7 cloud recording is available for $4.99/month. 60 day event recording is available for $2.99/camera.
