Summit Wealth Group Acquires Commonwealth Advisor, Expands Tennessee Presence

Scott Hardy joins Summit's Brentwood office, supporting the independent RIA's continued expansion and advisor growth strategy.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Summit Wealth Group (Summit), a national independent RIA, today announced the acquisition of financial advisor Scott Hardy and his practice, representing approximately $189 million in client assets. Hardy, who is transitioning from Commonwealth Financial Network, will serve clients from Summit’s existing Brentwood, Tennessee office.

"Scott saw an opportunity to maintain the independence and client relationships he values while gaining access to a deeper infrastructure built specifically to support advisors. We think that says a lot about what we’re building at Summit."

Hardy's addition marks another milestone in Summit's growth following its 2025 transition from Commonwealth. Hardy brings established client relationships and will leverage Summit's financial planning, investment management, technology, and operational resources to support his practice.

“Having operated within the Commonwealth ecosystem ourselves, we understand both what advisors value about that model and what they’re looking for as their practices evolve,” said Randy Morris, CFP®, CEO of Summit Wealth Group. “Scott saw an opportunity to maintain the independence and client relationships he values while gaining access to a deeper infrastructure built specifically to support advisors. We think that says a lot about what we’re building at Summit.”

Hardy’s transition also reflects a broader part of Summit’s growth strategy: attracting established advisors who want the resources and scale of a larger RIA without giving up the autonomy and personal client relationships that helped them build their practices. Summit’s collaborative culture was another factor in Hardy’s decision, including the opportunity to work alongside advisors who openly share their experience, ideas and expertise with one another to better serve clients.

“This wasn’t a decision I took lightly,” said Scott Hardy, Senior Financial Advisor at Summit Wealth Group. “What attracted me to Summit was the opportunity to preserve the way I work with clients while adding significantly more resources behind that relationship. I’m gaining a planning team, investment resources, technology and operational support while still being able to focus on what matters most to me, which is serving my clients.”

Hardy's addition advances Summit's strategy of partnering with established, growth-minded advisors who value independence, comprehensive financial planning and relationship-driven service, while further strengthening the firm's presence in Tennessee.
