Cronus Pharma Announces the Launch of Florfinasone™ Otic for the Treatment of Otitis Externa in Dogs

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cronus Pharma LLC, a fully integrated animal health company, today announced the launch of Florfinasone Otic (florfenicol, terbinafine, mometasone furoate), an FDA-approved product indicated for the treatment of otitis externa in dogs associated with susceptible strains of yeast (Malassezia pachydermatis) and bacteria (Staphylococcus pseudintermedius).

Florfinasone Otic is a fixed-combination therapy that provides antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory activity in a convenient single-use formulation. The product contains 16.6 mg/mL florfenicol, 14.8 mg/mL terbinafine (equivalent to 16.6 mg/mL terbinafine hydrochloride), and 2.2 mg/mL mometasone furoate. Proper patient selection is important when veterinarians consider the benefits and risks of using Florfinasone Otic. The integrity of the tympanic membrane should be confirmed before administering the product. Florfinasone Otic is not for use in cats.
