FiRa Consortium Welcomes FCC Vote to Modernize UWB Rules

Action paves the way for broader deployment of secure, interoperable UWB solutions.

BEAVERTON, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The FiRa® Consortium, the global industry association driving interoperability and certification for ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, today congratulated the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on launching a proceeding to update its rules on UWB spectrum use. The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) represents an important step toward providing regulatory clarity that can accelerate the deployment of secure, centimeter-level precision ranging and location technologies across consumer, automotive, and industrial markets.
