Kim McDonald promoted to President; Heidi Cox joins Groundworks as Chief Information Officer

These strategic leadership appointments come as Groundworks continues to expand its footprint as a multibillion-dollar home services organization.

McDonald Named President

As President, McDonald will oversee Marketing, Operations, and Technology, and help guide the company's continued growth and strategic execution. She joined Groundworks in 2017 and has held leadership roles, including Chief Technology Officer, Head of Learning & Development, Chief Marketing Officer, and Chief Strategy Officer. Since 2022, she has served on the Groundworks Board of Directors and as a strategic advisor to Sanders and Matt Malone, the company’s founder and executive chairman.

Throughout her tenure at Groundworks, McDonald has helped shape the company’s strategic direction, modernize its technology, and elevate its brand as a leading name in the home services industry.

Cox Joins as Chief Information Officer

Cox brings more than 25 years of technology leadership experience, including overseeing enterprise technology organizations at multibillion-dollar public and private companies. Most recently, she served as CIO of Dallas-based Trinity Industries, where she built the company’s enterprise data and AI strategy, modernized core business systems, and brought its IT, data, and analytics teams together under one organization. Before Trinity, Cox served as CIO, senior vice president, and principal at HKS, and held technology leadership roles at Jacobs and Carter & Burgess.

At Groundworks, Cox will lead the company's technology capabilities, focusing on strengthening core systems and building scalable infrastructure to support its growth. These initiatives will equip teams with the tools and connectivity they need to work effectively and deliver a more seamless experience for homeowners.
