Sage and OpenEvidence Partner to Bring Peer-Reviewed Research to Clinicians at the Point of Care

A new content agreement brings peer-reviewed research from more than 300 Sage journals into OpenEvidence, with direct citations back to the original articles

MIAMI & LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sage, an independent academic publisher of peer-reviewed research across the health, medical, and social sciences, and OpenEvidence, the most widely used medical AI platform among U.S. physicians, today announced a strategic partnership to bring Sage's peer-reviewed content into OpenEvidence. Under the agreement, clinicians using OpenEvidence at the point of care will be able to draw on evidence from over 300 Sage journals spanning the life and biomedical sciences, health sciences, medicine, and nursing, with direct citations back to the original articles.

The volume of published medical research now far outpaces what any individual clinician can track. Studies routinely take years to move from publication into everyday practice, and much of the gap is a retrieval problem: the evidence exists, but not in a form a clinician can surface in the ninety seconds between patients. The partnership is designed to shorten that path for Sage's research.

Adding Sage’s portfolio expands the range of specialty literature OpenEvidence can surface and synthesize when physicians ask clinical questions, deepening the evidence available across the platform. Sage will license a portfolio of its scientific and medical content to OpenEvidence, including journals from key societies such as American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, World Stroke Organization, American Society of Neurorehabilitation, International Headache Society,

Australian Society of Anaesthetists, International Society for Cerebral Blood Flow & Metabolism, Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists and International Society of Endovascular Specialists.

OpenEvidence, now used by 60% of practicing U.S. physicians, gives Sage research a direct path into the clinical questions physicians are asking every day. Sage content will surface within OpenEvidence answers when clinically relevant, alongside the peer-reviewed literature already available on the platform, and every response that draws on it will cite and link back to the underlying article.
