Flood Risk America Introduces a Hardware-Free Flood Panel
New polycarbonate barrier uses a gasket-only seal, giving historic, leased, and glass-fronted commercial properties flood protection without permanent modification.
LAKE WORTH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Historic buildings and leased storefronts often can't legally take a single drill hole, which has left them with few flood protection options. Flood Risk America (FRA), a national provider of flood protection systems, launched the Bi Fold Door, a polycarbonate flood panel designed for properties where drilling, anchoring, or permanent installation isn't permitted.
"For years, the answer for some buildings has been 'we can't do anything permanent,' and that too often meant doing nothing," said Stephen Gill, Managing Partner at Flood Risk America.

Unlike traditional flood panels that rely on mounting tracks, anchors, or fixed hardware, the Bi Fold Door contains no hardware at all. A gasket creates the seal at the opening when the panel is deployed. When not in use, the panel folds for compact storage.
The product addresses a persistent gap in flood protection: buildings that face real flood risk but can't accept structural changes. These include historic and landmark properties subject to preservation rules, tenant-occupied spaces where leases prohibit alterations, and storefronts with glass entry systems whose warranties may be affected by drilling.
"For years, the answer for some buildings has been 'we can't do anything permanent,' and that too often meant doing nothing," said Stephen Gill, Managing Partner at Flood Risk America. "The Bi Fold Door changes that conversation. Owners and property managers can protect the building without changing the building."
Key features of the Bi Fold Door include:
- Hardware-free design with no anchors, tracks, or drilling required
- Gasket-sealed deployment at the opening
- Lightweight polycarbonate construction
- Bi-fold format for compact storage and quick deployment
The Bi Fold Door is available for commercial and residential properties nationwide.
