Indigenomics Institute and the Indigenous Professions of Southern Africa Establish Indigenomics AFRICA

Big Sister Collaboration Agreement launches a fifty-year platform for African Indigenous economic leadership.

VICTORIA, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Indigenomics Institute and Indigenous Professions of Southern Africa (IPROSA) have signed a pioneering Indigenomics Big Sister Collaboration Agreement, forming Indigenomics AFRICA. The Agreement establishes a fifty-year vision for collaborating on a continental Indigenous economic design and delivery platform which will convene stakeholders for collective action on Indigenous trade, economic empowerment, and leadership within Africa.

Under the Agreement, the Indigenomics Institute will serve as the Big Sister and steward of the Indigenomics methodology, framework, name, and global relationships. IPROSA will serve as the Sister Entity and continental steward of Indigenomics AFRICA, leading community engagement, programming, partnerships, and regional delivery.

A Joint Steering Committee will guide governance, annual planning, accountability, and the evolution of the collaboration. The partnership will also create pathways for African Indigenous economic leadership and knowledge to contribute to the future World Indigenous Economic Forum.

The Indigenomics AFRICA Continental Forum will serve as the annual convening of a year-round continental platform. The Forum will connect Indigenous professionals, practitioners, knowledge Keepers, community leaders, enterprises, governments, researchers, funders, and strategic partners to build practical economic pathways across Africa.
