Updated every two years, the heavy-duty and off-road edition consolidates information related to emissions standards covering vehicles, engines, equipment, and machinery at a time when manufacturers are required to consider an increasingly broad range of emissions requirements. Alongside standards addressing conventional pollutants, the 2026/2027 booklet also covers zero-emission vehicle and greenhouse gas emissions, including CO₂, helping users understand the wider regulatory landscape affecting vehicle and engine development.

To support comparison and interpretation of different requirements, the booklet brings together emissions limit values, standard test cycles, and testing conditions, alongside references to relevant fuel standards. It also provides an overview of on-board diagnostics and emissions monitoring.
