STATION Austin Partners with National Security Innovation Council to Strengthen Dual-Use Innovation

Partnership will expand programming, connections, and resources through STATION Austin’s Center for Dual-Use Innovation

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--STATION Austin announced a new partnership with the National Security Innovation Council (NSIC) to support and activate STATION Austin’s Center for Dual-Use Innovation, creating more opportunities for founders, military and government leaders, investors, applied researchers, and industry partners to connect around technologies with both commercial and national security applications.

Through the partnership, NSIC will provide strategic guidance and recurring programming at STATION Austin, helping connect Texas innovators and academic researchers to national security priorities, resources, and decision-makers.

“Texas has an incredible concentration of founders, researchers, investors, industry leaders, and government partners working on technologies that can make a real difference,” said Michael Denton, Managing Director of STATION Austin. “This partnership with NSIC is about making those connections easier and more intentional. Together, we’re building a place where national security challenges can meet Texas innovation — and where promising technologies have a clearer path from idea to real-world impact.”

Programming through the partnership will include community gatherings, recurring office hours, targeted matchmaking, critical technology forums, reverse pitches, university and lab translation sessions, and Dual-Use Academies. Programming will also bring federal, state, and regional leaders into the conversation, connect national security and government innovation priorities with capabilities across Texas, and give founders greater access to subject matter experts who can help them navigate government funding and partnership opportunities.

The partnership builds on STATION Austin’s growing dual-use and national security community and its work to connect emerging technologies with the capital, customers, expertise, and relationships needed to move them forward.

Drew Scheberle, Executive Director of NSIC, will lead the organization’s work with STATION Austin alongside Art Trevethan, Founder of Acceleration Reach Transition, who will support execution.

STATION Austin and NSIC will continue to operate independent programming while collaborating on initiatives through the Center for Dual-Use Innovation.
