SCE Announces Additional Community Engagement Opportunities Ahead of Nov. 30 Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program Deadline

Virtual and in-person events will help eligible community members understand their options, ask questions and get help submitting claims.

ROSEMEAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Southern California Edison today announced additional opportunities for community members directly impacted by the Eaton Fire to learn more about the Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program and get help submitting claims before the Nov. 30 deadline. The series includes SCE-hosted virtual and in-person community meetings as well as participation in events throughout the community.

“As the Nov. 30 deadline approaches, we encourage community members to understand all of the options available to them,” said Pedro J. Pizarro, president and CEO of Edison International, SCE’s parent company. “These events provide a convenient way to ask questions, get support and determine the next steps that are right for their situation.”

About the Deadline

Just over two months remain to submit a claim. Eligible community members who do not submit a claim by Nov. 30, 2026, will not have the opportunity to learn what compensation may be available to them through the program.

• Submitting a claim, receiving an offer and evaluating that offer do not waive a claimant’s rights.
• On average, SCE delivers offers 36 days after receiving a substantially complete claim.
• Community members who believe a Fast Pay offer does not adequately reflect their losses may request a Detailed Review. To preserve that option, they must submit a claim by Nov. 30, 2026.

As of Sept. 24, 2026:

• Nearly 4,900 claims submitted, consisting of more than 14,900 individuals, trusts and legal entities, with 40% submitted by attorneys or authorized representatives.
• Nearly 2,800 offers extended to over 6,900 claimants, totaling more than $970 million.
• More than 3,700 claimants paid, totaling over $525 million, with many more in process.
