Marissa Mitrovich Joins as Vice President of Government Affairs, Vijay Venkateswaran Named Chief Business Development Officer

(NASDAQ: NN), a leader in next-generation positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) and 3D geolocation, announced today that Marissa Mitrovich has joined the company as Vice President of Government Affairs, and Vijay Venkateswaran has been appointed Chief Business Development Officer. Together, the hires bring decades of policy and commercial business development and strategy expertise necessary to advance the company’s 5G-powered 3D PNT and sensing solutions with stakeholders on Capitol Hill, in the wireless network and critical infrastructure industry, and beyond.

Ms. Mitrovich brings more than two decades of experience in government affairs, strategic advocacy, and industry leadership across major corporations and industry associations. She will lead the company’s strategy and engagement with Capitol Hill, the Administration, and with strategic advocacy partners to advance NextNav’s commitment to providing next-generation location technologies and a robust ground-based complement and backup to GPS. Before joining NextNav, she held senior leadership roles at the Fiber Broadband Association, Frontier Communications, Verizon, and the Wireless Infrastructure Association. Washingtonian named her one of Washington’s most influential people in the sector in 2024 and 2025, and The Hill named her to its Top Lobbyists list in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Mr. Venkateswaran joined NextNav as its Chief Business Development Officer. In this role, he leads the company’s business and technology ecosystem development, strategic partnerships, and go-to-market initiatives. With more than 25 years of experience in corporate strategy, product innovation and management, and business development across Telecommunications, Information Technology, Electric Power Utility and other Industrial sectors, he has launched new products and platforms and forged technology ecosystem partnerships that drive customer and new market growth. He has held senior leadership roles at Charter Communications, Verizon, and Accenture. He comes to NextNav most recently from Viventum Incorporated, where he spent a decade leading and delivering high-value strategic advisory and go-to market leaderships for major clients including Anterix, Future Technologies Venture, GE Ventures, Macquarie Capital, and Verizon Wireless.

Together, Ms. Mitrovich and Mr. Venkateswaran will broaden NextNav’s engagement with policymakers, government agencies, mobile and satellite network operators, and technology partners as the company executes on its vision for a ground-based 5G-powered 3D PNT solution to complement and backup GPS.
