Nate Neibauer joins Academy Asset Management after serving as Head of Investments at Amazon, where he established the company’s in-house investment team and managed over $100 billion of strategies. He directed the plan and execution of the portfolio management function, including the governance framework, operating model, and portfolio infrastructure. In addition, he also oversaw the company’s external mandates and led short-term funding, directing the issuance of the company’s $30 billion commercial paper program. Lastly, he managed liquidity, counterparty risk, and investment advisory support across the company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Neibauer spent twelve years at the Ford Motor Company, most recently as a Senior Portfolio Manager in Fixed Income Trading overseeing the company’s liquidity portfolio.

“Nate brings a rare combination of corporate treasury leadership and institutional portfolio management experience,” said Academy’s Chairman and CEO Chance Mims. “His track record managing large-scale fixed income portfolios and capital markets programs will strengthen the guidance we provide our clients.”

Mr. Neibauer commented on joining the firm: “I am honored to join the exceptional team at Academy and excited to help grow Academy Asset Management. I look forward to partnering with clients as they expand their investment strategies while advancing Academy's important mission of supporting our nation's veterans.”

Mr. Neibauer earned his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

“Nate’s experience spans two decades of treasury and portfolio leadership at some of the country’s largest corporations,” said Academy Asset Management’s Chief Financial Officer Anthony Graham. “That depth of experience managing risk across market cycles is exactly what our clients look for.”
