TigerByte Cyber Emerges from Stealth with $3M Seed Funding and Over $7M in Government Contracts from DARPA, US Space Force and Other Agencies to Protect Satellites and Aircraft from Cyberattacks

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TigerByte Cyber, a defense-focused cybersecurity company specializing in hardware-based edge computing solutions, announced it has raised a $3 million seed funding round led by Hale Capital Partners with the participation of Tenon VC. The funding will support rapid scaling of TigerByte Cyber’s technology to modernize legacy communications and navigation systems across military and commercial aircraft, satellites, vehicles and drones. The company’s solutions provide post-quantum encryption, policy enforced data validation, and system hardening techniques to defend these critical systems against cyberattacks. TigerByte Cyber’s technology has drawn strong interest from multiple U.S. government agencies, including the US Space Force, the US Navy and DARPA, and the company has secured over $7 million in contracts.

Aircraft, satellites and other platforms increasingly rely on connected edge devices to enhance their capabilities, but many of these platforms were not designed to withstand today’s cyber threats. Recent incidents illustrate the risk: in August 2026, cameras aboard British Royal Navy K3 Scout unmanned surface vessels were found transmitting automated status signals to an internet address in China, and a Delta airlines passenger demonstrated how easily a spoofed in-flight Wi-Fi network could be created to intercept or manipulate connected traffic. These events show how threats can enter through trusted devices, third-party components, wireless networks and insider activity, as well as conventional external attacks. Strengthening the cybersecurity of these systems is essential to achieving trusted mission autonomy, preserving data integrity, and enabling aircraft and satellites to operate securely and without disruption.

TigerByte Cyber’s flagship product, Cyber Protection Suite (CPS), brings modern cybersecurity capabilities to legacy platforms. Designed for mission-critical edge environments, CPS combines an ultra-compact form factor with plug-and-play functionality. TigerByte Cyber’s CPS technology has been validated through real-world testing with multiple government agencies. In March 2026, it achieved flight heritage by successfully upgrading the communications security of an operational satellite in orbit through the deployment of its encryption technology. In August 2026, TigerByte demonstrated its capabilities at the Navy’s Joint Interagency Field Experiment (JIFX) at Camp Roberts. The company was recently awarded a contract by the U.S. Space Force to investigate new approaches to edge computing in space, in addition to other government contracts totaling $7 million.

The seed funding will be used to scale the production of TigerByte Cyber’s technology and expand its US manufacturing capabilities. As part of this deal, Rob Wiltbank, CEO of Galois, will join TigerByte Cyber’s Board of Directors. TigerByte Cyber will be exhibiting at the Defense TechConnect Innovation Summit & Expo from September 22–24 in National Harbor, Maryland.
