Chamberlain University Names Jason Dunne Chief Academic Officer

Dunne returns to the nation's largest school of nursing to advance student success and academic excellence

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chamberlain University, a Covista institution and the nation's largest school of nursing, today announced Jason Dunne, DNP, MBA, MN, RN, as its next Chief Academic Officer, effective Sept. 14, 2026. Dunne will report to Amelia Manning, President, Chamberlain University, and will lead academic strategy, faculty development and curriculum across the university’s campuses and online programs nationwide, serving approximately 40,000 students.

Most recently, Dunne served as Chief Academic Officer at Arizona College of Nursing, where he provided academic leadership across more than 20 BSN campuses and helped lead the institution through significant growth, including the opening of 14 new campuses in four years. His work included academic quality, faculty development, accreditation and student outcomes. He also developed international nursing initiatives and partnerships in Canada, Jamaica and the Philippines, bringing a broad perspective on nursing education and health systems.

Before Arizona College of Nursing, Dunne spent six years at Chamberlain, first as Campus President of the Miramar campus from 2015 to 2020, then also as Campus President of the Jacksonville campus from 2018 to 2020, before becoming Senior Director of Campus Operations across the South Region. A registered nurse, Dunne began his career in clinical practice across community health, critical care, emergency and medical-surgical nursing before moving into academic and operational leadership, giving him firsthand experience across the full arc of the profession Chamberlain trains students to enter. He currently serves as President of the Nursing Consortium of Florida, where he has contributed to and supported the organization’s growth from a regional group to a statewide organization representing 80 member schools, colleges and health systems.

Dunne returns to Chamberlain at a moment of significant growth for the university with the commitment to launch 10 to 15 new campuses through fiscal year 2029. Dunne will help lead that growth into its next chapter, growing enrollment, strengthening persistence and advancing student outcomes as the university continues to expand.
