AM Best Assigns Credit Ratings to Redion Insurance Pty Ltd

SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best has assigned a Financial Strength Rating of A+ (Superior) and a Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “aa-” (Superior) to Redion Insurance Pty Ltd (Redion) (domiciled in Australia), formerly known as Europ Assistance Australia Pty Ltd. The outlook assigned to these Credit Ratings (ratings) is stable.

The ratings reflect Redion’s inclusion as a member of the lead rating unit of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. (Generali), which has a balance sheet strength that AM Best assesses as very strong, as well as strong operating performance, very favourable business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management (ERM).

The addition of Redion to the Generali rating unit reflects its strategic role in the group’s expansion strategy into the Australia and New Zealand travel insurance markets. Redion benefits from implicit and explicit support from Generali, including a track record of capital injections, a commitment to support future capital needs, and ongoing reinsurance, operational and ERM support.

Ratings are communicated to rated entities prior to publication. Unless stated otherwise, the ratings were not amended subsequent to that communication.
