Barings Appoints Ankit Aggarwal as Head of Global CLO Issuance and Capital Markets

Newly created role reinforces Barings' continued investment in its global CLO platform and capital markets capabilities

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Barings, one of the world’s leading alternative investment managers, announced today that Ankit Aggarwal has joined the firm as Head of Global CLO Issuance and Capital Markets to further scale Barings’ CLO platform. Based in New York, he will report to Adrienne Butler, Head of Global CLOs.

In this newly created role, Aggarwal will lead Barings' global CLO issuance platform and capital markets strategy, helping to accelerate the continued growth of the $55 billion* platform across broadly syndicated loans, private credit, and infrastructure debt. He will work closely with investment, distribution and structured credit teams to enhance CLO-related investment capabilities, drive new CLO formation, and grow strategic capital partnerships.

“Ankit brings a strong combination of expertise across capital markets, CLO structuring, equity distribution, and investor engagement that will help expand our global platform,” said Butler. “As institutional and insurance demand for CLO solutions continues to grow, Ankit’s leadership will strengthen our capital formation and new issuance capabilities while further enhancing the value we deliver to clients."

Aggarwal joins Barings from Bank of America, where he led the firm’s US CLO banking and structuring team and CLO equity distribution efforts. Over nearly two decades in structured credit and capital markets, he has extensive experience across CLO origination, structuring, private credit financing, and insurance-oriented investment solutions. Earlier in his career, he served as a Vice President at Deutsche Bank, where he focused on CLO origination and structuring.

“Barings has built a differentiated global CLO platform with significant opportunities for continued growth,” said Aggarwal. “I am excited to join the team to deepen relationships with institutional investors, expand the firm’s capital markets capabilities, and help drive the next phase of growth across the platform.”
