Ant Group’s AI Health App AQ Reaches 150 Million Users as It Expands AI-powered Day-to-day Health Use Cases

SHANGHAI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--At the 2026 INCLUSION · Conference on the Bund in Shanghai, Zhang Junjie, Vice President of Ant Group and Head of the Health Business, announced that Ant Group’s flagship AI health app AQ has reached 150 million users, handling nearly 20 million health inquiries per day. The new milestone also means AQ has grown its user base by 50% in just 8 months, since it announced 100 million users in February 2026, reflecting strong demand in China’s AI health space.

Health has become an increasingly important priority among Chinese consumers. According to Accenture’s China Consumer Insights report published in November 2025, the share of Chinese consumers who considered health a priority increased from 78% in 2021 to 87% in 2025, making it the top priority among the areas surveyed, ahead of career and wealth.

Launched by Ant Group in June 2025, AQ is designed to address everyday health needs and support healthy habit formation. In addition to AI-enabled medical services, including doctor recommendations, hospital appointment booking and online consultations, AQ is expanding into broader health and wellness management use cases across five key areas: weight, exercise, nutrition, sleep and mental wellbeing. The app will also add a dedicated Health section to its homepage, giving users easier access to health management services and information.

“People often know what they should do to manage their health, but find it difficult to put that knowledge into practice,” said Zhang Junjie. “Leveraging AI capabilities and a professional partner ecosystem, AQ aims to help people better understand and manage their health with personalized user experience.”

Through the new Health section, users can connect smartwatches, fitness bands and other health devices, and keep track of their daily diet. AQ can then provide information on more than 10 health indicators, including weight and sleep, together with health assessments, personalized analysis and recommendations.

AQ can also leverage users’ previous interactions to provide personalized reminders and follow-ups. For example, it may note that their protein intake has been low during the week or that their sleep duration has fluctuated recently, then offer suggestions for adjustment. AQ has also introduced a range of personalized AI-powered health management features, including AI food scan (calorie management), AI vitality management and an AI weight management coach.

“Health management requires collaboration across the ecosystem and a long-term commitment,” said Zhang Junjie. “AQ will continue to work with partners in smart hardware, healthy food, sports and nutrition to develop professional and personalized solutions and offer AI-powered health use cases that best cater to users’ needs at different stages of life.”

As part of this broader expansion of health management services, AQ continues to develop solutions for specific health needs, including weight management. In June 2026, AQ launched a nationwide weight management initiative in China, encouraging users to collectively lose 100 million jin (50 million kilograms) through science-based and sustainable weight control, supported by smart devices, personalized AI health coaching and incentive mechanisms. As of September 2026, 2.75 million people have participated, collectively losing more than 2.5 million kilograms.
