WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Energy Vault Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: NRGV) (“Energy Vault” or the “Company”), a global energy infrastructure company supporting grid reliability and next-generation AI and high-performance computing infrastructure, today announced that it has secured and fully contracted 275 MW of reciprocating engine generation capacity utilizing Rolls-Royce MTU technology. This procurement was supported by dedicated equipment financing from Eagle Point Credit Management LLC (“Eagle Point”). Equipment deliveries are expected to begin in the second half of 2027 and continue through the first half of 2028.
The secured generation capacity will support Energy Vault’s expanding Powered Land and current multi-Gigawatt onsite power infrastructure discussions underway for large-scale AI and high-performance computing campuses, providing critical long-lead equipment as the Company scales its Build, Own & Operate infrastructure model.
Securing both the generation equipment and associated financing represents an important execution milestone in Energy Vault’s strategy to address one of the most significant constraints facing hyperscale AI infrastructure: access to reliable power on timelines aligned with rapidly growing compute demand.
By contracting 275 MW of generation capacity ahead of deployment while simultaneously securing dedicated equipment financing, Energy Vault is addressing two critical requirements for large-scale AI infrastructure development: equipment availability and access to capital. The financing supports capital-efficient procurement while limiting the use of corporate capital prior to deployment into customer projects.

The generation capacity will utilize proven Rolls-Royce MTU reciprocating engine technology designed for demanding power applications, including mission-critical and data center infrastructure. The modular nature of reciprocating engine generation is expected to support phased deployment and expansion as Energy Vault develops onsite power infrastructure across its AI campus portfolio.
The equipment is expected to be deployed as part of Energy Vault’s integrated power architecture combining dispatchable onsite generation, battery energy storage systems, grid-forming power conversion systems and advanced power plant controls. This integrated architecture is designed to provide hyperscale customers with a repeatable pathway to faster energization while supporting the reliability, power quality and operational flexibility required by next-generation AI workloads.
Energy Vault’s Powered Land strategy brings together development-ready land, grid access, onsite generation, energy storage, electrical infrastructure and intelligent controls into an integrated infrastructure platform. Depending on individual project requirements, Energy Vault intends to develop, finance, build, own and operate these assets under long-term commercial agreements with hyperscale and AI infrastructure customers.
The 275 MW of secured reciprocating engine generation capacity is intended to support Energy Vault’s broader portfolio of multi-gigawatt AI infrastructure opportunities and complements the Company’s previously announced initiatives to deliver integrated power infrastructure for hyperscale AI data centers.
