Blue Sage Capital Launches Blue Castle Waste Solutions Platform in the Midwest and Plains Regions

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blue Sage Capital ("Blue Sage") is pleased to announce the formation of Blue Castle Waste Solutions ("Blue Castle”), a regional solid waste and recycling platform in the Midwest and Plains. Blue Castle was established through the concurrent partnering with founder-owned waste-collection businesses serving communities across Minnesota and Iowa. Blue Sage invested out of Blue Sage Capital IV, L.P., in partnership with Castle Capital, experienced operators with a demonstrated track record of building and exiting environmental services platforms.

Blue Castle exists to bring reliable, high-quality local waste collection services to communities across the Midwest and Plains states. Blue Sage and Castle intend to grow the platform by investing in people, equipment, and operations, and strategically partnering with like-minded, locally rooted businesses across the region, with the goal of building the premier regional solid waste and recycling company in the Midwest and Plains.

Doug Asay, CEO of Blue Castle, noted, “At Blue Castle, we have a deeply committed team, a clear strategy, and the right partners in Blue Sage and Castle to execute. We are excited to get to work building something that will make a real positive difference for the communities we serve.

Peter Huff, Founding and Managing Partner of Blue Sage, commented, “Blue Castle represents a compelling opportunity to apply a proven playbook in a sector we know well. Waste collection is one of the most essential and resilient local services in any community, and we see an opportunity to consolidate a fragmented market and build a regional leader. We are excited to partner with Castle and our management team to execute on that opportunity.”
