AM Best to Present Canada Insurance Segment Analysis at Annual Market Briefing in Toronto; Executive Panel to Discuss Use of MGAs, Specialty Lines

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best will host an insurance market briefing on the state of Canada’s insurance industry at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026.

During the complimentary half-day event, “AM Best's Insurance Market Briefing – Toronto,” AM Best analytical team will deliver market insights on Canada’s property/casualty and life/annuity insurance segments, as well as provide an economic outlook for the country.

Additionally, the event will feature a panel discussion on the use of delegated underwriting authority enterprises (DUAEs), such as managing general agents (MGAs), in Canada’s property/casualty segment, along with growth in specialty lines of business. The panel discussion will feature Brett Boadway, executive director, Canada Association of Managing General Agents (CAMGA); Brady DeSantis, vice president, underwriting solutions, Navacord; Paul Jackson, chief executive officer, Zurich Canada; and Matt Wolfe, president and CEO, Aon Reinsurance Solutions, Canada. AM Best Senior Director Sridhar Manyem will moderate.

The program also will feature a mock rating committee to give attendees a better understanding of the drivers behind rating decisions. AM Best analysts will examine key rating factors—balance sheet strength, operating performance, business profile and risk management—and how they affect outcomes.

The event begins at 8 a.m. EDT with a continental breakfast and registration, followed by the start of the sessions at 9 a.m. The event will conclude with a networking lunch for attendees to connect with AM Best and other industry professionals.
