Skience Appoints Starla Hendricks as Chief Revenue Officer

Wealth management and operations leader joins Skience to lead its next phase of commercial growth.

HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Skience, a wealth management technology company, has named Starla Hendricks as the Chief Revenue Officer. Starla will lead the commercial strategy across sales, marketing and market engagement as Skience expands adoption of its platform across the wealth management industry.

The appointment reflects Skience’s evolution from individual products to a unified platform that brings together the capabilities wealth managers need to run and grow their businesses.

With the platform proven at scale, Skience is expanding its sales and marketing efforts to reach more firms across the industry. Starla will lead this work, bringing the platform to a broader market and deepening its adoption.

The platform connects workflows, documentation, data and compliance across core processes, from account opening to advisor transitions. For Starla, that intersection is familiar territory, having worked across wealth management operations, technology and commercial leadership throughout her career.

Kripa Shetty, Co-founder and COO at Skience, said, “We’re at a point where the platform is proven and our client relationships are strong. As we look to the next phase of growth, we want a leader who truly understands the wealth management industry and can build on that foundation. Starla has spent her career inside wealth management firms, so she understands how they operate, what they need, and where technology can make a real difference. That perspective makes her a great fit for where Skience is headed.”

Hendricks brings more than 30 years across wealth management, fintech, capital markets and financial services. She has worked with RIAs, broker-dealers, banks and asset managers throughout her career, helping organizations leverage technology to improve efficiency, solve complex challenges, and support growth. Her career began in financial services operations at Wells Fargo and U.S. Bancorp Investment Services before moving into financial technology sales and business development. She has spent more than two decades helping financial institutions find and implement solutions aligned with their business needs, with leadership roles at SS&C Technologies, Financial Industry Technical Services, Thomson Reuters, Vestmark and StoneCastle. Most recently she helped spearhead a focus on enterprise sales and business development at Flyer Financial Technologies, driving new business for a SaaS platform serving RIAs, broker-dealers and institutional wealth firms.

Damon Gladman, Chief Product Officer at Skience, sees Hendricks’s industry experience as an important addition to the product conversation: “Starla knows this industry from the inside out, but what stands out just as much is the energy she brings to the room. She asks sharp questions, connects quickly with people and creates momentum. That combination will make us better, not only in how we bring Skience to market, but in how product, sales and marketing work together around the customer.”

For Hendricks, the move brings together the different parts of her career: “I’m incredibly energized by what I’m seeing at Skience. My career has spanned operations, technology, and commercial leadership; and Skience sits exactly at their nexus. Wealth firms don't need more tools; they need better outcomes for their advisors and clients. To achieve that, they need their front, middle and back office processes to work seamlessly, something I can clearly see the Skience platform enabling. My focus is bringing that to more firms and making the case in terms that matter to their business.”

With Starla joining the team, Skience will focus on bringing its unified platform to more wealth management firms and helping them connect the technology and processes that support their businesses.
