During the transition, CIS’s Leadership Team—Sri Vedachalam, Managing Director of Advisory; Joey Monheit, Senior Operations Director; and Roland Jones, Managing Director of Client Engagement—will oversee day-to-day operations and strategic priorities, reporting to the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Board of Directors. This leadership structure will provide continuity for employees, clients, and public-sector partners throughout the CEO search.

“Sanjiv has played a pivotal role in shaping CIS into the company it is today, and into the future,” said Greg Cannito, Chair of the CIS Board of Directors. “On behalf of the Board, I want to thank him for his leadership and numerous contributions over the past three and a half years. He helped establish CIS as an independent company, expand our presence in the water infrastructure and resilience markets, and build our Advisory Services practice. CIS is entering this next chapter from a position of strength, and we are pleased that we will continue to benefit from Sanjiv’s industry relationships and strategic perspective in his role as Senior Advisor.”

Dr. Sinha has served as CEO since early 2023, leading CIS through a period of significant growth and transformation. Under his leadership, CIS expanded into three new markets, secured more than $200 million in contract awards, and established a growing Advisory Services practice focused on climate adaptation and infrastructure resilience.

Dr. Sinha also advanced CIS’s flagship Community-Based Partnership (CBP) and capital management model, helping public-sector clients deliver infrastructure investments that support local economic development, workforce development, regulatory compliance, and climate resilience.

During his tenure, CIS was ranked No. 153 among the largest global firms in the 2025 ENR Top Environmental Firms rankings and received nearly a dozen national awards recognizing its growth and innovation.

“It has been a privilege to lead CIS during such an important and exciting period in the company’s evolution,” said Dr. Sinha. “I am especially proud of the talented team we have built and all that they have accomplished. I am deeply grateful to the CIS Board of Directors for the opportunity to lead CIS and for its vision that infrastructure investment can deliver both technical excellence and meaningful community benefits. I look forward to continuing to support CIS leadership, its clients, and its partners in my new role.”

The CIS Board of Directors has initiated a search for the company’s next Chief Executive Officer. The search will focus on identifying a leader who can build on CIS’s strong foundation, advance its growth strategy, and further the company’s mission of delivering innovative infrastructure solutions that create meaningful benefits for communities.

CIS enters this transition with a strong financial foundation, an experienced leadership team, and a growing portfolio of opportunities across water infrastructure, climate resilience, and advisory services. The company remains fully committed to supporting its public-sector partners and delivering innovative infrastructure solutions nationwide.
