Tetra Digital Group and Berkeley Payment Solutions Partner to Bring Canadian Dollar Stablecoin Settlement to 500+ Canadian Businesses

The partnership will integrate CADD with Berkeley’s payment infrastructure, expanding access to Canadian-dollar stablecoin payments and settlement across Berkeley’s network of corporate, government, and institutional clients.

CALGARY, Alberta & TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tetra Digital Group, Canada’s leading digital asset infrastructure company, and Berkeley Payment Solutions, a leading Canadian B2B payments infrastructure provider, today announced a partnership to expand access to CADD-powered payments and settlement across Berkeley's network of 500+ corporate, government, and institutional clients.

“By bringing CADD into Berkeley’s payment infrastructure, we’re creating a path for organizations to put Canadian dollars onchain without having to build stablecoin capabilities from the ground up.”

Through the partnership, Berkeley will integrate CADD into its payment infrastructure as Tetra's first white-label B2B partner. The integration will enable Berkeley to bring Canadian-dollar stablecoin capabilities into existing enterprise payment programs, giving clients onchain settlement access without building their own stablecoin infrastructure.

CADD is a Canadian-dollar stablecoin issued by Tetra Trust Company, backed 1:1 by Canadian-dollar reserves, and approved by Alberta Treasury Board and Finance. It is available on Ethereum, Base, and Tempo.

The collaboration addresses a challenge for Canadian businesses: moving Canadian dollars can still involve transfer limits, banking hours, and lengthy settlement processes. CADD provides a 24/7 onchain settlement option, while Berkeley’s infrastructure handles on- and off-ramps, accounts, card issuance, and delivery to end recipients through existing payment programs.

“Stablecoins have the potential to make business payments faster, cheaper and more efficient, but adoption depends on making them accessible through the infrastructure businesses already use,” said Didier Lavallée, Founder and CEO of Tetra Digital Group. “By bringing CADD into Berkeley’s payment infrastructure, we’re creating a path for organizations to put Canadian dollars onchain without having to build stablecoin capabilities from the ground up.”

Berkeley brings 20 years of Canadian and U.S. payment infrastructure experience, relationships with banks, corporations, and government clients, and a proprietary stablecoin settlement platform.

"Canadian businesses deserve payment infrastructure that works at the speed they operate, not the speed of a system built in the 1980s,” said Jonathon Hamburg, Founder of Berkeley Payment Solutions. “This partnership with Tetra gives the organizations we serve a practical way to access Canada’s first regulated stablecoin issued by a financial institution through payments programs they already understand and use. Making that technology accessible and largely invisible to the end user is what enterprise payment adoption looks like."

The companies will launch use cases including large-value domestic CAD transfers, cross-border supplier and contractor payments, corporate disbursements, 24/7 program funding, and programmable payment flows. The domestic Canadian and Canada-U.S. corridor will be a particular focus, where businesses face the cost and settlement constraints of traditional wire infrastructure.
