iA Financial Group Marks the 10th Anniversary of Its Philanthropic Contest With a Record $1 Million Investment in Youth

QUEBEC CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the past 10 years, iA Financial Group’s Philanthropic Contest has provided a unique window into the issues affecting communities across Canada. Through thousands of applications from charitable organizations working on the front lines, iA Financial Group has had the opportunity to listen, learn and better understand the evolving needs of Canadians.

Since 2017, Philanthropic Contest applications have consistently highlighted that the wellbeing of future generations is closely tied to the strength of the communities around them. Through initiatives addressing issues such as mental health, academic success, social inclusion, food insecurity, homelessness and environmental impact, the contest has helped support healthier, more secure and more prosperous futures for young Canadians.

A decade of listening, learning and action

Launched in 2017 to mark iA Financial Group’s 125th anniversary, the Philanthropic Contest has responded to changing community needs year over year across Canada. Detailed in iA Financial Group’s 10 Years of Action report, over the past decade, the contest has received 1,843 project submissions, generated more than 11,000 votes from the public and employees and invested $5.1 million in charitable initiatives across the country.

The contest is just one part of a broader and long-standing approach to philanthropy: each year, iA Financial Group aims to contribute 1% of pre-tax profits to more than 600 organizations across Canada. In 2025, that commitment translated into $11.4 million invested in initiatives that strengthen communities and support those making a difference every day.

The Largest Funding Commitment in the History of the Philanthropic Contest

To mark its 10th anniversary, iA Financial Group is making its largest investment through the Philanthropic Contest to date, with $1 million to be granted to charities helping Canada’s next generation get ahead. Four grand prize winners will each receive a $200,000 grant, with the remaining funds distributed among the other finalists.

Whether its mission is directly focused on the challenges faced by young people or whether it proposes an initiative that offers solutions, the organization must make a concrete contribution to addressing issues affecting young people, particularly in the areas of education, health, social services and community or the environment.

• September 9 to October 13: Charities register and submit proposals
• October 14 to November 2: A committee selects twelve projects for public vote
• November 3 to 25: Twelve finalists announced and public voting period
• Week of December 7: Winners announced
